Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This policy explains how JT Glazing ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use this website — in particular when you contact us through the enquiry form. We are the "data controller" for that information and handle it in line with UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
1. Who we are
JT Glazing provides door automation, access control, UPVC window and door installation, glazing, locksmithing and fire-door maintenance across Orpington and the surrounding Kent area. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights below, contact us using the enquiry form on our homepage, or by phone (tap to call). If you need our postal details in order to make a request or a complaint, ask us and we will provide them.
2. The information we collect
When you submit an enquiry, we collect only the details you choose to give us — typically:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your phone number (optional); and
- the details of your enquiry (the service you need and any description you add).
If you become a customer, we may also hold information relating to the Work, such as your address, the job details, correspondence, quotations and invoices. Providing your information is voluntary, but if you don't give us the details we need, we won't be able to respond to your enquiry or carry out the Work. We do not knowingly collect special-category (sensitive) data, and we ask that you do not include sensitive information in the enquiry field.
3. How and why we use it
We use your information to:
- respond to your enquiry and provide a quotation;
- arrange, carry out and invoice any Work you ask us to do;
- keep records of our dealings with you, including for guarantees and follow-up work; and
- meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have asked us to.
4. Our legal basis
- Steps prior to a contract and performance of a contract — to respond to your enquiry and carry out Work for you;
- Legitimate interests — to respond to potential customers and run our business efficiently; and
- Legal obligation — for example to keep records required for tax.
5. How your enquiry reaches us
The enquiry form is delivered to our inbox using a third-party form-handling service (FormSubmit). Your submission passes through their systems solely to forward the message to us; we only receive the details you entered. We recommend reviewing that provider's own privacy terms.
WhatsApp. If you choose to contact us using the WhatsApp button, that conversation — including any photographs you send — takes place on WhatsApp and is handled under WhatsApp's own privacy terms, not this website's. Messages arrive directly on our phone. We keep them only as long as we need them for your enquiry or job, in line with section 9 below, and we do not pass them to anyone else except as described in section 6.
6. Who we share it with
We keep your information confidential and share it only where necessary — for example with a subcontractor or supplier who needs it to complete your Work, with our accountant or professional advisers, or where we are required to by law. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
7. Transfers outside the UK
Some of the service providers we use to receive or handle your enquiry (for example our form-handling provider and email provider) may process your information on servers located outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on an appropriate safeguard recognised under UK data protection law — such as a UK "adequacy" regulation covering the destination country, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (or Addendum) — so that your information remains protected.
8. How we protect it
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information secure and to prevent unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, but we work to protect the information you send us.
9. How long we keep it
We keep the information only as long as we need it: enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to 24 months; where we carry out Work, we keep the job records for the guarantee period and then for up to six years after completion to meet legal, accounting and guarantee requirements. After that the information is securely deleted.
10. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- be informed about how your data is used;
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased in certain circumstances;
- restrict or object to our processing;
- data portability; and
- withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the enquiry form. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.
11. Cookies and tracking
This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and does not profile visitors.
12. Automated decisions and children
We do not make automated decisions or carry out profiling that produces legal effects. Our services are aimed at adults, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will appear on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
